Kuala Lumpur Travel Guide: A 4-Night First Trip
Kuala Lumpur is underrated as a first trip: inexpensive, familiar food, large Indian community, and the main sights are day-trip distance from the city.
When to go
KL is warm and humid all year with brief afternoon rain. Drier stretches fall roughly June to August and December to February, but no month is a washout.
The 4N/5D plan
- Day 1: arrive, city tour — Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower, Merdeka Square.
- Day 2: Sunway Lagoon water and theme park.
- Day 3: Batu Caves en route to Genting Highlands with the cable car.
- Day 4: Putrajaya — the planned capital, with a lake cruise.
Our Malaysia (KL) package is 4N/5D from ₹40,000 per person with a 4-star stay, breakfast and transfers.
Money and budget
Currency is the Malaysian Ringgit. Meals are cheap and varied; vegetarian and halal food are everywhere. Grab (ride-hailing) is the easy way around town.
Visa and entry
Malaysia has offered visa-free short entry for Indian tourists in recent seasons alongside its e-visa. Confirm the current position and the maximum permitted stay before you travel.
Practical notes
- Genting is cool and can be foggy — carry a light jacket.
- Batu Caves has a steep stair climb and monkeys; keep bags closed.
- KL pairs well with Singapore or Langkawi if you have more days.
